ANY DAY TO ISLAND
(weather permitting) If you cannot make our weekly Sunday
boat from Sittee River
One-way
$450 for up to six passengers from Sittee
River Village or Dangriga 1 1/2 to 2 hours
to island, or back to mainland. Boat must leave before
2 p.m. to get through the reefs. From Placencia $600 (30' - 750). From
Belize City $900 (30' - 1200). To charter the Walkyrie, 70ft(22m) Proa
catamaran, double the costs for up to twelve passengers, additional
passengers on any charters $70.ea. To go on our Sunday weekly
trip it is $70 ea one way. Charter connection with most outgoing
flights if you leave early morning on a charter boat to Dangriga

SUNDAY
BOAT SCHEDULE INCLUDED IN WEEK PACKAGES:
On Saturday go to Glover’s Guest House Sittee River
so we know you have arrived and sign in. Sunday load the boat
and leave at 9 a.m. for the island. Return is the next Saturday
around noon leaving island at 9 a.m. (occasionally
safety delay due to bad weather, which happens one or two
times a year).
GETTING
TO SITTEE RIVER VILLAGE:
-
Go to Dangriga and take the 10:00 am, 11:00 am, or 4:00 pm
bus for Placencia going through Hopkins Village, then arriving
at Sittee a 30 min ride. Southern Transport Bus Phone:501-502-2160.
If you do not want to take the bus, take a taxi, which is
$50 US +-. Ask the driver to let you off at the Glovers
Guest House in Sittee River. The bus from Placencia leaves
at 5:30 a.m., 6 a.m.and 1:30 p.m. going to Sittee River. A
taxi from the International Airport to Sittee is $150 and
takes two hours.

then immediately catch a cab from Dangriga airstrip to Sittee

it is tight and you arrive in Sittee when the boat is leaving
or has left, so you must call us to hold the boat (Sittee
Phone 509-7099).
From
Sittee to Dangriga 6 a.m. and 1:30 bus. You can also catch
the Placencia bus at 1 pm, stop in Maya Center, then wait
for the bus to Dangriga or Punta Gorda. contact

GLOVERS
GUEST HOUSE IN SITTEE RIVER:
Departure point for Glover's Atoll and center for excursions
to the south part of Belize. Many of our guests that want
to spend a few days on the jungle river or explore the surrounding
attractions arrive a day or two early to explore…….Bring
light weight long clothing, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, binoculars,
camera and insect repellent.
Close to the Mayflower National Park, and Jaguar Reserve.
Waterfall, Maya Ruins, Sugar Mill Ruins, Old Cemetery and
Lagoons, all accessible by rental - canoes, or bikes or by
taxi. Tranquility and lots of birds, iguanas, some crocodiles.
Swim in the river or hike in the jungle.

Enjoy
meals with fresh vegetables and fruits in our lovely over
the river thatch restaurant (breakfast - $9.00, lunch - $6.00
& dinner - $12.00 + 10% tax). Just five minutes to the grocery store
and internet cafe.
REYNOLDS
SITTEE RIVER STORE:
Reynolds
Store, a local grocery store or tienda, sells basic staples,
including canned cheese and butter, which does not need refrigeration.
A vegetable truck comes through on Sunday morning. If you
want trail mixes, granola bars, snacks bring that with you
from home. (We suggest that you bring light weight things
from home and buy the balance in Sittee River) . Bring food
that does not need refrigeration for a week or bring a cooler
and buy ice in Sittee River. No bar on island so bring drinks
and alcohol. Stay a second week or longer and order supplies
from Sittee River at cost plus 20%.

FREIGHT
AND LUGGAGE ON BOAT:
One suitcase or backpack and one box or cooler of food and
a sm. bag of fruit/veg each. Extra crates $8, Each kayak $35,
Bicycle $35, Small boat $35. Bring food, supplies, soap, towels,
flashlight, candles, matches, toilet paper, solar shower(optional)
sunscreen, bug repellent, liquor or soft drink, raincoat for
Sittee River and maybe boat. Bring on boat food for lunch,
snacks, and keep sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and rain gear
handy. Music with earphones only. Low price is made possible
by carrying freight, lumber, and coconuts; please help with
loading and unloading.
